Edith May (Marques) Reposa

East Providence - Edith May(Marques) Reposa,  passed away peacefully at her home in East Providence on Tuesday ,April 16, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on December 30, 1933, in Worcester, MA, Edith was the beloved wife of the late Charles A. Reposa, Sr., and the cherished daughter of the late John and Lena Bertha (Chenette) Marques.

Edith, lovingly known as a kind and thoughtful soul, dedicated her life to her family and community. She was a devoted mother to Charles A. Reposa, Jr. and his wife Pam of North Attleboro, and Carolee Amaral and her husband Michael of East Providence. Her role as a grandmother to Schaelin, Matthew, Joseph, Ciara, and Marissa was filled with joy, and she instilled in them the values of love and family that she held so dear.

Edith's siblings held a special place in her heart. She is survived by her brother John Marques of Cranston, and sisters Jacqueline McArdle of Greenville and Pearl Kennedy of North Providence. She was also the sister of the late Donald Marques, Richard Marques, Margaret Castaldi, Elaine Webster, Bertha LaPrade, Barbara LaRoche, and Beatrice Monroe. Her extended family included many loving nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

For over two decades, Edith was a dedicated employee at the Swiss Manufacturing Company, where she worked in the Assembly Department. Her work ethic and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of her time there. She made East Providence her home since 1964, having previously lived in Providence and Warwick, and her presence enriched the community.

Above all, Edith was a homemaker, a role she embraced with great pride and love. She cared for her in-laws with unwavering devotion and found her greatest happiness in the time spent with her family. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, a testament to her loving nature.

Those who knew Edith will remember her as the epitome of kindness and thoughtfulness. Her gentle spirit and compassionate heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her legacy of love and care will live on through the memories she created with her family and friends.

Edith's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with the threads of love, family, and service. She will be deeply missed, but the light of her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched.

A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. Edith May Reposa was a beacon of love and kindness, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Her funeral will be held on Monday April 22, 2024, at 8:30am from the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00anm in St. Francis Xavier Church, 81 North Carpenter Street, East Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
