Cipriano Pavao Obituary

Pawtucket - Cipriano Sousa Pavao,78, of Pawtucket, known affectionately as Cipriano to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024, at Miriam Hospital. Born on February 18, 1946, in Sao Miguel, he was a cherished son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. His life was a testament to his loving, kind, and generous spirit, which touched the lives of all who knew him.

Cipriano was the beloved husband of Maria S. (Ferreira) Pavao, with whom he shared a beautiful and enduring partnership. He was the proud father of Andreia Ferreira of Attleboro, Ana Pavao of Pawtucket, and Michelle Pavao of Pawtucket. His legacy as a devoted father is carried on by his children’s accomplishments and characters. Cipriano was a source of wisdom and joy for his grandchildren Briel Frias, Adreana Frias, Junior Frias, Liliana Ferreira, and Evan Ferreira, who will forever cherish the moments spent in their grandfather's loving embrace.

He was born to the late Cipriano R. and Maria Da Conceicao (Sousa) Pavao and was a caring brother to Jose Pavao of Taunton, Maria Ferreira of Montreal, Canada, Filomena DaCosta of Montreal, Canada, and Lina Benevides of Sao Miguel. Mourning his departure as well is his extended family of nieces and nephews, who remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his brother, the late Manuel Sousa Pavao.

Cipriano's journey took him from the Azores to the shores of America, where he settled in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, over 45 years ago. He proudly served in the Portuguese Army before embarking on a new chapter in his life. Cipriano's dedication and work ethic were evident during his 35 years at the American Insulated Wire Company, where he was a respected and valued machine operator and employee.

An avid fisherman, Cipriano found solace and joy in the tranquility of nature. His garden was a place of pride and reflection, where he cultivated not only plants but also memories with his family. Cipriano's love for playing cards was well-known, and the games he played with friends and family were filled with laughter and camaraderie. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his loved ones, recognizing that these moments were the true treasures of life.

Cipriano's warmth and generosity were boundless. He extended a helping hand to anyone in need, and his kindness left a lasting impact on the community. His life was a reflection of the love he carried in his heart, and the values he embodied will live on through the many lives he touched.

As we bid farewell to Cipriano Sousa Pavao, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, friendship, and kindness. He will be deeply missed, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends forever. Cipriano's journey through life was a beacon of light for all who knew him, and his spirit will continue to guide us in the days to come.
