Jo-Ann (Amaral) Johnson passed away peacefully Friday morning April 5th, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family and left this world hands held, by all that loved her. Jo-Ann was born and raised in East Providence, RI and spent a great deal of her life living in Rumford. Over the last decade she lived in Hudson Florida and most recently returned to RI to stay with family.
Jo-Ann was a graduate of East providence high school class of 1962. She quickly became an amazing contributor to some of Rhode Island's most iconic and recognized companies. Early in her career as an administrator she worked with Hasbro but soon after that joined the Colibri Corporation and Seiko Watch distributors where she spent nearly 38 years as lead administrator to the owner. Later in her career with Colibri she accepted the position of human resource director. In this role, she touched hundreds of lives for the better and was absolutely loved and respected by everyone. Her passions included gardening, traveling with family and cooking what could be regarded as the best Portuguese meals on planet Earth. Jo-Ann's greatest joy was the time she spent with her loved ones, Family was everything to her, the love, support and kindness provided to everyone in her family could not be measured.
Jo-Ann was predeceased by her husband Jerry Johnson of East Providence RI. She leaves behind her loving son Thomas Ruane Malone Jr and his wife Jean Ann of Johnston RI, Her daughter Beth Ann Malone of Coventry RI and her loving grandchildren, Thomas Ruane Malone III of Jamacia Plain, Ma and his wife Amanda, Robert Joseph Malone of Northfield NH, Lindsey Arlene Ramirez and her husband Robin of Alexandria, NH, Chelsea-Leigh Wallace and her husband Aaren of Cranston RI, Steven Jeffery Cacicia Jr, Adam Tyler Cacicia, Brooke-Isabella Arlene Cacicia and Kyle Francis Robbins. Her loving Great- Grandchildren, Lorelai Winter Wallace and Quinten Lewis Ramirez.
She was predeceased by her Parents, Joseph and Arlene Amaral of East Providence RI, And her brothers "Chipper" and David Amaral of East Providence RI. She leaves behind her sister Henrietta Giragosian and her husband Pete, brother Roy Amaral and wife Mary, brother Stephen Amaral and wife Joyce. Jo-Ann was also predeceased by her loving nephew Todd Alan Giragosion and leaves behind many loving nephews, nieces and dear friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visiting hours on Monday, April 15, 2024, from 8:30am -10:00am, at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. Followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00am in the funeral home.
Burial will follow at 11:30am in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter, RI.
