Linda M. Flynn, 75, of Riverside, formerly of Barrington, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Miriam Hospital in Providence. She was born in New London, CT, on May 15, 1948, the loving daughter of the late Joseph Flynn, Jr., and Mary Ann (Luzietti) Flynn.
Linda was a 1966 graduate of Saint Bernard's High School in New London, CT, where she laid the foundation for her future career in nursing.
She pursued her dream of becoming a nurse by earning her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the Saint Joseph School of Nursing in North Providence, RI, in 1970. Known as an "old school" nurse, Linda was dedicated to her profession and earned the admiration of both colleagues and patients alike for her compassionate care and unwavering dedication.
Linda was employed as a registered nurse at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI, for over 40 years, where she touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues with her expertise and kindness.
In addition to her career, Linda enjoyed spending her spare time gardening and engaging in arts and crafts activities. She cherished her dear friend for over 50 years, Marsha Clarke, and Marsha's husband William of Barrington, RI. Linda was also the devoted godmother of Amy Alexander, also of Barrington, and she leaves behind her "nieces," Sherry Clarke of Riverside, RI and Michele Passarelli of Lincoln, RI and her "nephews," William Clarke, Jr. and Todd Clarke both of Barrington, RI.
She was the sister of Joseph Flynn, III, and his wife Laura Ann of Groton, CT, and the aunt of Katie Melia and Andrew Flynn. Linda also leaves behind many other dear friends to mourn her passing.
Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend Linda's funeral, which will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024, beginning with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI. A prayer service will be held in the funeral home at the conclusion of the visitation at 7:00 PM. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
