Robert Donald "Don" Banz Jr., July 29, 1958 - March 19, 2024, affectionately known as Don, passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 65.
A true devotee of Rhode Island, Don was a lifelong resident, born in North Kingstown while his father served as a navy pilot stationed at Quonset Point. He attended grade school in Cumberland, graduated from Barrington High School and spent his adult life in East Providence. Don was a man of fervent passions.
Among his many interests, his greatest loves were motorcycles and his beloved wife Anne. While it might be debated which he cherished more, in truth, it was Anne. Their union in 1997 marked the beginning of an inseparable bond, evident to anyone fortunate enough to witness their deep and special love for each other.
He is survived by his devoted wife Anne (Epworth)Banz, son Daniel Reineman, and cherished granddaughter Ellie Rose Reineman. Don adored his role as a doting grandfather, relishing in the endearing title of "Opa." Additionally, he is survived by his father Robert D. Banz, aged 90, sister Vicki Banz Mueller, and brother Richard C. Banz.
Don was predeceased by his wonderful mother, Nancy M. Banz (Wagner). He enjoyed being a long-time member of the EP Elks Lodge No. 2337, located at 60 Berkeley St, East Providence, RI. Don also looked forward to attending biker weeks in New Hampshire and motorcycle rides in the country. He was renowned for his infectious smile and signature greeting, "woo hoo!"
He prided himself on his ability to fix anything, except for a broken heart.
May his adventurous spirit and unwavering love continue to inspire us. A celebration of Don's life to be held at the Elks Club, 60 Berkley Street, East Providence beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 30th. All who knew and loved Don are invited to share in honoring his memory.
Calling hours and flowers are respectfully omitted. Arrangements by the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, East Providence.
