Urania (Macedo) De Medeiros

Urania De Medeiros, 96, of Seekonk, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Life Care Center of Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Eduardo P. De Medeiros, who passed away in 2005. Urania was born in Providence, RI, on June 1, 1927, the loving daughter of the late Manuel and Silvana (Rezendes) Macedo.

Urania lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family. She had a passion for spending time with her loved ones, cooking delicious meals, and sewing. Urania found joy in the outdoors and nature, often spending hours watching the birds at the feeder in her yard through her big picture window.

She was a kind, loving, and nurturing soul, touching the hearts of all who knew her. Urania was the loving mother of two daughters: Margaret Loomis and her companion Jim Broderick, and Donna De Luca and her husband William. She is survived by her five cherished grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, who will all affectionately refer to her as their Vavo.

In addition to her husband of 60 years, Eduardo, Urania was predeceased by her brother, Eugeno Macedo, in 1999.

Urania's funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 550 Wampanoag Trail, Riverside. Visitation is respectfully omitted, and arrangements have been entrusted to the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, East Providence, RI. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy in Urania's name may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Urania De Medeiros will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched with her warmth and love.
